credits applied to each corresponding event. If there are no credits
shown for a particular event, then each member should apply credits
as he or she sees fit, at 3 credits per hour. Starting in 2010, credits will be applied at 1 credit per hour. While
the credits may not be shown, many of the agendas are, so member
assessments can be easily made by linking to each event.

The credit system is currently under review. Presently, the 3
credit/hour rate is still being applied as required by our current
by-laws. As you may be aware, we plan a by-law change to simplify
recording and reporting by replacing credits with hours, but these
changes won’t occur until the by-laws are approved by Council AND
ratified by the Members. We expect this to be done before
reporting is due (Dec 1), so please Stay Tuned . |

The Winning Solutions conference provides a unique
opportunity for forest managers, logging and transportation contractors
to make forest operations more profitable while respecting the environment.
The objective of the Ground disturbance technical session is to
raise the general awareness about soil disturbance issues with field
practitioners in Ontario by providing a overview of the problem,
what regulations are evolving, what are the best management practices
used by the industry and a look at training and educational tools
available.
The objectives of the Transportation technical
session is to offer contractors and fleet managers the latest information
available on reducing the energy costs of wood transportation through
the use of new and improved truck components, appropriate equipment
selection, the use of on board computers and innovations in fuel
management and fuel purchasing strategies.
