Forest Education Opportunities

Lakehead University in Thunder Bay is the only institution in Ontario that offers a Bachelor of Science of Forestry degree. Lakehead University is located in Thunder Bay on the north shore of Lake Superior. The University of Toronto and Lakehead University both offer Masters programs in forestry. It is important to note that earning a M.Sc.F. or Ph.D does not override the minimum academic standard required by the OPFA, although credit may be given for certain subject areas based on the content of the course.

As well, up to 1/3 of the time you are a full time student in these programs, may be credited towards the 3 years work experience required for OPFA membership. Attending any of the numerous seminars, workshops and courses available throughout the province is also an excellent opportunity to learn and/or upgrade your forestry skills and knowledge.

Where can I find a list of all of the schools offering forestry related courses?

The OPFA website offers several links to forestry education and certification schools and programs.
