Only
after a full academic and OPFA Core Subject Assessment is completed
and only when these assessments recognize a deficiency in one or
more specific subject areas is it prescribed that an OPFA exam or
exams be written.
OPFA exams are set by university professors, experts
in their field or subject. Each Professor prepares a reading list
of materials suitable for their exam. The reading list is provided
to the applicant once they are prepared to start studying and are
given 6 months to complete their studying. The applicant is required
to make arrangements to take the exam within 6 months of receiving
the Reading List
It is the responsibility of the applicant ( with the
assistance of OPFA staff or a mentor) to find a current R.P.F. or
employment supervisor to invigilate (sit with and oversee) the exam.
Together the applicant and the invigilator arrange a date, time
and place for the applicant to take the exam. An electronic version
of the exam is emailed to the invigilator the day before the set
date.
Completed exams are returned to the OPFA office and
then forwarded to the Professor for marking. Once a passing mark is
received, the applicant is said to have fulfilled the requirements
of that subject.
