Purpose
The committee works to ensure ongoing preparedness
of professional foresters to meet the requirements of forestry practice
in a changing world and to ensure that the public receives services
based on the most current information available by:
- facilitating access to and awareness
of continuing education opportunities;
- developing a framework for self-directed
study;
- establishing continuing education
standards and guidelines;
- prescribing minimum continuing
education requirements;
- developing programs of study
and related courses in critical areas;
- monitoring participation in
continuing education to ensure that the membership is developing
and maintaining its knowledge and professional skills appropriately
and in accordance with By-law requirements; and
- engendering a spirit of life-long
learning in all members.
